The Republic of Panama is located in Central America at its southernmost region. Panama celebrates 2024 New Years Eve and New Years Day the same time the rest of the world does on December 31st and January 1st with a lot of events, parties, performances and festive activities.
Where to go for NYE
The Annual Ball Drop on Panama City Beach. One of Panama’s major and most popular New Years Eve attractions is the yearly Ball Drop. In the short time this event has been going on, its increased popularity has drawn a tremendous following from people all over the world who visit Panama during New Years time.
Most of the locals enjoy going to visit their friends or families and then attend the Ball Drop as a group. The event is organized by Pier Park, includes other activities like stilt walkers, face painters, bounce houses and street performers and is free and open for everyone.
Large numbers of people are known to attend this event to be treated with live music performances by both local and eminent musicians from around the world. The event starts about 5:30 pm with an incredible fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico then about 8:30 pm the official Ball Drop begins with about 7,000 beach balls being dropped.
The final event takes place at midnight when an 800 pound beach ball drops in the presences of thousands of cheering people to mark the New Year. Between the lively crowd, great food, fine performances and festive atmosphere, you are sure to have a great time.
Celebrations on NYE
New Year celebrations in Panama will be like no other you have ever been to particularly NYE on Panama City Beach when they ring the midnight bell to ring in the New Year in a special way. Nearly all nightclubs, discotheques and clubs in Panama have New Years parties well organized, most of which are for adults only. These parties have lively music, the finest champagne, dancing all night on New Years Eve. Special dinners can also be found on this occasion but usually requires a reservation although the party places do offer different packages for the evening.
If you do not have a party mood, go out for the more adventurous options of which there are plenty available in Panama. Some of these options include sailing, skating, diving, kayaking, water skiing along the beautiful Panama beaches with groups of friends or family members and other relatives of their families.
